About The Screen Guardians
Protecting and Preserving Childhood in the Digital Age
We’re parents, educators, and advocates who believe every child deserves to grow up — not just grow up online.
Our Story
This started as a mom moment. It became a movement.
I always thought I had a pretty good handle on the digital world my kids were living in. I teach this stuff. I write school programs on this stuff. I talk about digital health for a living.
Then I looked at one of my kids’ group chats.
Reality check received.
We’ve since testified before state legislatures, built K–12 programs launching across multi-state school networks, and created a community where thousands of parents and educators finally feel like they’re not doing this alone.
And we’re just getting started.
We are not here to scare you.
We are here to equip you.
Grounded in research, not fear. Built for families and schools — not headlines.
What We Believe
Our Core Convictions
Education Over Restriction
Removing screens doesn’t solve the problem. When kids understand why their brain responds to technology, they become more curious — not just compliant.
“Rules without understanding often breed rebellion.”
Shared Responsibility
Digital health is not a solo parenting problem. It requires alignment between home, school, and community — all speaking the same language.
“Influencing a community enhances learning and increases impact.”
Connection Over Control
The goal is not surveillance or punishment. It’s partnership — between parent and child, family and school, school and community.
“A dysregulated child doesn’t need more control. They need more connection.”
Brain Science, Plain Language
Dopamine loops. Prefrontal cortex development. Algorithmic design. These concepts belong in every household — explained in words real people actually use.
“When students understand the system, shame decreases and agency increases.”
Hope, Not Fear
“Not anti-technology. Pro-child.”
